a big vision.

Here’s what’s going to happen in 2025 at The Vining Center, with God’s help and yours…

  1. In January, we will start a 3-week online community called The Evangelical Recovery Journey where we invite those who feel spiritually homeless to process their journey and find some helpful tools for moving forward.

  2. In March, we start two cohorts of The SOUL Journey. This is where we learn to co-create our True Selves, becoming more of who we’re meant to be in this world. One version will start with a retreat weekend here in the mountains, while the other will be fully online.

  3. And breaking news: We’re trying to find a physical home for the Vining Center. For 4 years we’ve operated virtually and simply rented space when we need it. Now, it feels like it’s time for us to come home and have our own place.

a big ask.

40 million have left the American church in the last 25 years; some are calling it The Great Dechurching. (This is the subject of Jerome’s doctoral research.) At the Vining Center, we welcome the churched even while we “leave the 99” to seek out the many “one’s” (Mt 18:12). We need $36,000 to lease a facility for 2025. Will you help us? You can go to ViningCenter.org/vintage25 to contribute!

A big home.

The dream for 2025 is a place. Over the last few years we have imagined a large home near the App State campus that would serve several purposes:

1.           A retreat center for both large groups and individuals.

2.          A gathering place for local spiritual community and small groups.

3.           A place to welcome students hungry for spiritual connection.

a big family.
